Hopefully you have found yourself here intentionally, if not please stay and have a look around. Hopefully there is a little something for you.
We are John, Alexa & Digit, our 4 legged pal. Collectively we make up ‘Team Slightly Lost’.
The idea for turning ‘Team Slightly Lost’ into what it is now, is following on from John’s diagnosis and treatment for Undifferentiated Spindle Cell Sarcoma, a rare bone and soft tissue Cancer. We realised through our own experiences how little is known about the disease and hope in some small way we can help make everyone more aware.
In 2015 we completed the Mongol Rally, driving a little 1.2 VW Polo which we nicknamed ‘Minty’ all the way to Mongolia from the UK, covering 19,000km through Europe, Russia & Central Asia. After John’s treatment for Sarcoma was completed, we spent several weeks in 2017 driving around Scandinavia in our LR Discovery 4. Well, we are getting on a bit now and the comfort didn’t go amiss.
We are by no means professional writers, or full time travellers but we are enthusiastic about the amazing planet we live in and want to capture and share our experiences with you. Hopefully our site will give you some insight about our life on the road, whilst raising the much needed awareness of Sarcoma whilst fundraising for Sarcoma UK.
In the meantime, have a look around, maybe watch a video or two or just share a post with your friends. We will be posting updates regularly via our blog, with photo’s and video in the fun section. Digit also has his own diary to keep his friends up to date on his latest escapades.
The more exposure Sarcoma gains, the more hope there will be for a cure.
We hope you enjoy our site and that we see you again soon.
John, Alexa and Digit xx
